Wilderness Vein Academy offers multiple original medical courses developed by us, using our own presentations. Our custom courses can be tailored to fit your needs or interests. Each course can be submitted for continuing education credits for EMS providers.

Narcan -- it's everywhere. It's on the news, in schools, in offices, on ambulances, and in hospitals. What is Narcan? When should it be used? What does it do? You can get it for free, but are you prepared to use it? It's time to find out when is the right moment to use Narcan, and what else you can do to help victims that is even more important.

Shock -- it's briefly mentioned in almost every first aid class, but what is it really? Why should we be so concerned about understanding what is often referred to as the "Silent Killer?" Shock is not minor. It is not something to ignore. You will definitely treat everybody for shock after this course!

You just witnessed an emergent situation occur. You need to keep yourself safe. You need to call 911. You need to help victims. What do you do? What should you expect? How can you prepare yourself? In this course, we teach you basics to protect yourself, what to expect when you call 911, how to quickly assess a victim, and ways that you can prepare yourself and others through recommended trainings and items to carry.

It is the key to everything we do in medicine -- our ability to assess our patients. What all should we be assessing? Outside of a hospital, we don't have the blessings of X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans. What we do have is our hands, our senses, and our knowledge. Let's review the basics to rebuild a strong foundation!

Medical emergencies can happen anywhere -- even among your congregation in the middle of a sermon. Does your church have any medical emergency plans? Do they have a first aid kit? An AED? A Stop the Bleed kit? Learn to recognize basic medical emergencies, and what are simple steps you can take to assist victims and mitigate future emergencies!
